Amesbury Achievements

Let's take a few moments to celebrate recent successes of some of our Amesbury students

Trinity College Speech and Drama:

Jack A and Siyala recently sat Trinity College Speech and Drama exams. Jack sat grade 2, and Siyala sat grade 1. Both scored distinctions.

ICAS:

This year we have had students sit ICAS exams in Digital Technologies, Science, Writing, English, and Maths. All our students did very well in the exams, and Siddhesh and Ishaan scored distinctions in Year 5 Maths and Year 5 Science.

Athletics:

In the first two weeks of this term we have run our Senior (Years 3 - 6) and Junior (Years 0 - 2) Athletics. Full lists of results are attached to this article. A few photos can be found here.

The top-performing senior students took part in the Northern Zones competition on Monday. By all accounts our Amesbury athletes performed superbly. We are still awaiting official results - once those are in we will publish a full account.

Kate's cross-country:

Kate was a Wellington representative last year, and again this year. She came 22nd last year and 9th this year. To represent Wellington, Kate needed to place in the top 10 in Northern Zone, Interzone, and Regionals. These are her results in those races:
- 2nd Northern zone (April)
- 6th Interzone (May)
- 10th Regional (June)
And she need to be committed to 3 months training (July-September)
- 9th Inter-regional (September at Timaru)
She has chosen to represent Year6 girls to do the relay this year. Wellington team won the race.

Netball:

And congratulations to our Amesbury netballers, who capped off their season with a prizegiving, with Wellington Pulse player Whitney Souness as special guest. Details of their season and prizewinners can be found here.
