Known costs for 2015

You may have already received some, or all of the information below via email. We thought it might be useful however, to have a consolidated post showing known costs for 2015.

School Donation 2015
The Ministry of Education provides a decile-based Operational Grant, which is funding for the basic administration, teaching and property running costs of the school. As a decile 10 school, the government considers our students to be from the highest socio-economic area, so we receive a smaller operational grant per student than lower decile schools.
To enable us to provide quality education and additional resources to enhance learning, we rely on voluntary donations from parents. Voluntary donations are tax deductible. These have not increased in the three years the school has been open.
One child attending school - $240
Two children attending school - $400
Three or more children attending school - $480

A 10% discount off these amounts if offered if the school donation is paid in full by 31st March 2015.  There is a reduction for students joining school part way through the year.

Stationery & Mathletics Licence Fee
School provides all the stationery that students need throughout the year. The charge for this is $40, and this also includes 50% of the Mathletics licence fee. School absorbs the other 50% of the Mathletics licence.  This fee is invoiced at the beginning of the school year.

Electives & Cooking Activities Fee
We ask families to pay a nominal fee of $20 per student, per year towards resources & ingredients for electives and cooking activities.

Swimming
All students will participate in swimming lessons during the course of the year. Koru students will go once per week in term 1.  Harakeke students will receive 9 lessons over the course of a two week period at the end of term 1. The cost is $50 per student, which includes the lesson and return transport to the pool.

Music Lessons
We offer a range of group and individual music lessons, which are delivered by specialist teachers on Wednesdays and Fridays during the school day.  This is an optional activity, and if you choose to enrol your child, fees must be paid at the beginning of each term to secure your child's place.  Invoices are sent out to those families who book lessons.

Camp & Field Trips
All students will have the opportunity to participate in camp and field trips.  As the cost of these events can vary greatly, these invoices are sent out as and when trips are arranged.  We offer options for payments in installments for larger amounts.

If you would like any further information on any of the above, please email office@amesbury.school.nz

Many thanks,
Gail
