EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST
** Birthday Parties at CPCC **
Planning your child's next birthday party? Horrified at the thought of having it at home in the middle of winter? Why not take the hassle out of it and have it here at Churton Park Community Centre.
Our rates are just $26 per hour (plus refundable bond) and I can put you in touch with lots of wonderful local party entertainers and caterers to make it even easier - from face painters to craft classes, from dance teachers to DJs, from cake pops to delicious cakes and cupcakes, it can all be pretty much taken care of for you. Pop in and see me to discuss or flick me an email at cpcc@wcc.govt.nz.

COMMUNITY NOTICES
  • ** Churton Park Community Association **
Have you renewed your subscription for this year yet?  The Association is leading the negotiations with the Regional Council on bus routes, puts on a number of events during the year for residents and their families and promotes other issues such as parking, road safety, community safety and so forth. As well, it publishes a local Gazette that is delivered to every household in the suburb at least three times a year. All this activity requires some funding. A subscription paid to the Association will go a long way to help deliver benefits to all residents. A number of members have yet to renew their subscriptions for the current year. You are urged to renew as soon as possible. See the Association’s website for details or post a cheque to PO Box 13-185 Johnsonville. If you are yet to join, there will never be a better time than now.
  • ** Antenatal Classes at Johnsonville Plunket ** - Johnsonville Plunket is launching antenatal classes in July (see attached for more details). The course will be followed by a free Plunket Parenting Education course called "Your New Baby".
  • Tawa Montessori Open Day Montessori @ Tawa School is holding an Open Day on Saturday 21 June, 11am – 1pm, Room 13, Tawa School. Meet the teacher, ask questions, and see the Montessori class environment for 6-12 year olds. For more information, please visit www.montessoritawa.org or phone 232 3787 a/h.
  • Glenside Progressive Association had a good planting day last Saturday and got 10% of their plants planted.  The forecast for this coming Saturday (14 June) is stunning and should be a great day.   So please join us at 10.00 am by the Western Bridge,Westchester Drive. There is some planting to be done on a slope but there will also be an opportunity to plant a flattish area if you prefer.  The aim is to get 20% planted this time so they need you to come.  Please come properly dressed – old jeans, old anorak, strong boots and gardening gloves.  You will need to bring a spade or mattock (narrow spades work best in rocky soil).  We have a few spare tools to share around but prefer everyone bring their own.  Please also bring a watertight 10L bucket.  A knife and trowel will also be useful.  For further information, contact Barry 478 7502.
To keep up to date with what’s on at CPCC throughout the week, you can follow us on Facebook (www.facebook.com/ChurtonParkCommunityCentre). It’s publically available, so you can view it even if you don’t belong to Facebook.
Have a great weekend!
